Why isn’t Vanilluxe used more? (Gen 9 nat dex or something)?
May. 20, 2024Title is self explanatory. Why does alolan-Ninetales outclass it? It has pretty decent bulk (bolstered by snow now) Access to both Blizzard and Freeze Dry, explosion for pivoting out, taunt for stopping hazard setters or set up sweepers and aurora veil? I get Ninetales is faster but Vanillux has more utility apart from maybe hypnosis. And plus Vanillux is slow meaning it could underspeed things like Pelipper to ensure its snow gets set up.

Trying to play defensively with an Ice type is really bad. Even if you outspeed with Autotomize, there is no recovery. There are way better Ice types, which benefit from being a dual type and having a better movepools for diversity. The only trait Vanilluxe has is either hit hard with Choice Specs or being a supporter to other Ice types.
