Why did my pokeball break?
Oct. 19, 2011I just through a quick ball at a bold ore, the ball shook in midair, and then it made a high pitched sound, then it didn’t move three times it only moved once, then i caught it. Is my game broken?

No you didn’t, What you have luckily experienced is aCritical Capture.
In Generation V, there is a chance of a critical capture, where the Poké Ball will only shake on the ground once before capture. When a critical capture occurs, the Poké Ball will make a high-pitched whistling sound as it is thrown, then pause in mid-air, and shudder before it drops down to the ground.Bulbapedia
