Why did I not win the maid challenge?

ok so i went to do the 5 maid knockout chalenge in platinum and i killed them all in 5 hits and the number ofhits needed was 8 and it told me i lost but i did it with 2 hits to spare!what happend? are the maids sore losers or what?

A butler and many maids are employed in the Mansion. In Pokémon Platinum, players may fight the maids in the 5-Maid Knockout Exact-Turn Attack Challenge, in which five maids must be beaten in a certain number of turns (no more, no less). -Bulbepedia

So you need to defeat them in theexact amountof turns.(8)

You need to beat it in EXACTLY 8 turns, or else you fail.

well i say that you should just beat 4 maid in 1 blow and then do 3 moves of rasing your attack or def or speed or accuracy or evainesses then finally attack and she dies.
