Which should I bring to the Battle Tower in Pokémon Sword: Adamant Mimikyu or Mild Gengar?
Feb. 25, 2022Yes I’m back at it again with a brand new question! I beat Pokémon Sword already and I’m going to the battle tower for double battles. I’m on beginner level 3 and hope to bring the right Pokémon! Mimikyu’s moveset is Shadow Claw, Leech Life, Play Rough, and Drain Punch with Big Root as the item. Gengar has Dark Pulse, Shadow Ball, Dazzling Gleam, and Energy Ball with Wise Glasses as the item (I’ll change it to Choice Specs). I know each have their pros and cons but please help me!

As much as it pains me to say (I grew up on gen 1), the only situation I can see Gengar being a better choice than Mimikyu is if you use a mega-Gengar setup, but in a 3v3 mega evolution isn’t as good as if it was just 6v6, so I would go with Mimikyu, and for your movesets, Mimikyu is better, anyway
