Where did the Hero from ORAS move from?

As anyone who has played the game knows, the Hero (your character) moves from an unknown place to Littleroot town. But where is this location? It sounds like the Hero’s dad has been in Petalburg for a while, but the Hero and their mother are completely new to the whole region, as they know nothing about it.

Are they from another region? Or just another town in Hoenn?

If Brendan/May is selected as the player character he/she starts his/her journey moving from his/her home in Johto to his/her new home in the town of Littleroot in Hoenn.

Fun Abstract Fact

It has been theorized that Whitney is in fact Norman’s daughter/the player’s sister. This is because Norman’s family is from Johto, they’re both Normal Gym Leaders, Whitney is a new Gym Leader and people obsess over Whitney too much. There’s no proof to this theory though.
