What should I ev train in for my Blastoise?
Dec. 29, 2013I have a Lv 1 squrtle and I’m planning it to be eved trained in defense, sp.def, and a little HP. But the Judge says my squrtle’s best ivis in speed. Blastoise doesn’t have really great stats in speed so I’m wondering should I change my ev plans a little for my Blastoise or should I stick with it?
Remember, this is for online/competitive battling.
My Squrtle is a modest nature.

No, just stick to a defensive spread. It won’t be outspeeding much anyways, and it’s great typing + Rapid Spin makes it more suited to be a wall as well.
Either that or just breed another one completely, which is what I would do.
One thing I would like to suggest is to this spread: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SDefA completely physically defensive spread is better for this guy since it’s two weaknesses are dominantly special.
For Blastoise, I’d recommend maybe finding a more defensive oriented Blastoise.
I’d go with an EV spread of 248 HP / 252 Def / 8 SpD
