What moves defrost?
Oct. 8, 2010I know that sacred fire defrosts the user(i know from my Ho-oh taking a blizzard from red’s lapras) but is this the same for other fire type moves and are you defrosted when hit by a fire type move.

You defrost when using Flame wheel or Sacred Fire, or from being hit by a fire-type move, and of course, a status problem preventing move, like Aromatherapy. Also, I believe Sunny Day speeds up defrosting. Magma armor prevents freezing. Other than that, YER FROZEN! freezing is very nasty, watch out. I heard you can stay an icicle for the whole battle! And there’s never a limit to freezing. either that, or you can stay frozen for up to SEVEN turns! Pack your Aspear berrys!
Pokemon can be defrosted by any of these:- 20% chance to thaw naturally each turn (except in generation I).- The frozen pokemon being hit by a Fire type move.- The frozen pokemon using Flame Wheel, Sacred Fire or Flare Blitz.
Note: Sunny Day does NOT thaw Pokemon out, but it does prevent freezing in the first instance.
