What is the chance of finding a shiny Pokemon in Pokemon GO during community day?
Oct. 25, 2018I know shinies are rare, and that they are an about 1/500 chance in Pokémon GO, but what is the chance for community days? I mean, during the Beldum event, I caught 3 shinies, but I don’t know if its because I caught about 50-70, or because they improved the shiny rate.

The exact odds of finding a shiny Pokémon in Pokémon Go hasn’t been confirmed yet. However, many surveys have been done in the past, and the chance of finding a shiny Pokémon during a Community Day event was observed to be around 4%, or1 in about 25 encounters. Nonetheless, the Community Day shiny chance is definitelygreater than the normal chance, which seems to be somewhere around 1 in 250 encounters, which is 0.4%.
