What Happens if your Opponent has Intimidate and then you Switch Out to Another Pokemon?

Jan. 18, 2013

Let’s say the opponent is a Gyrados with intimidate. I switch out my intimidated Geodude to a Breloom. Will the Breloom’s attack go down or does it stay the same?

Stay the same, Intimidate only works when the poke is called out. It doesn’t work for switching.

The attack will become normal on the Pokemon you swap out to. you will no longer have reduced attack on the Breloom, basically

It stays the same, as Intimidate activates once every switchin.

No. intimidate only affects the first Pokemon it sees. Intimidate activates whenever the Pokemon that has it switches in. If gyarados were to K.O something, the next Pokemon would not get intimidated, as it only activates when the intimidate Pokemon enters battle. It also affects both Pokemon in a double battle. Pokemon with the ability hyper cutter and clear body are unaffected.
