What happened to the Digimon events on Showdown?

Not sure if this belongs here or the Smogon forums, but anyway.I was on Showdown for a very long time and knowing that they made a Digimon event, and I was like “what the hell?” I only played like a format of that event and that’s it.

Now the question is, why they aren’t making any events like this anymore? Is it because they don’t have enough knowledge about the Digimon franchise or is it battles and mechanics in both Pokemon and Digimon franchises doesn’t quite match with each other?

Interested to know why they dropped that idea (If they really did).

Anyway, the github repository for the modstill existsand can be implemented into any Pokémon Showdown server. You can play it on theDawnserver still, with randomized teams.

It was just an April Fool’s event. I think it was more popular than anticipated, but it’s since been rejected as a format.
