What does ''salt'' mean with relation to Competitive Battling?

I mean, I was going to the battle replays thread in the RMT section and I came across the term “salt”. I have only started competitive battling this year, so I don’t many terms. So can somebody please tell me what salt means?

It’s not related to Pokemon but basically for everything in online gaming. Salt basically means when someone is whining when something about their way. In Pokemon, the most common version of someone being salty is when their opponent dodged an attack which would have made them win the battle

Also, when you google the meaining of salt in gaming, this pops up

SALTY means Upset or Bitter in an online gaming context. If someone dies a lot, is disrespected by other players, or has some other reason (usually a small reason) to feel aggrieved, then they are often described as SALTY
