New to the competitive scene, is Machamp any good?

Hi everybody, thanks for taking the time to answer my question.Is Machamp a viable Pokemon competitively? I like him because he looks cool and has been good to me in story mode play, but how does he stack up in competitive play? Are there any notably good builds for him?Thanks,

Oh yes, it is. It can take any hit (with no boosted stats by the opponent) with the assault vest. Also, with No Guard, Dynamic Punch is a must. Here is the set I use on Pokemon Showdown for my amazing machamp:
