Is the Comb in Combee for honeycomb and combine?

Combee has three faces, allcombinedtogether into one PokemonCombee also is in the shape of ahoneycomb.Is thecombin Combee both for combine and honeycomb?

Most likely,Combeedoes not come from both words. While it does have elements of both, the entymology for the nameCombeeis exclusivelyHoneycomb + Bee.Combinedoes fit into the wordCombee, but that is just a coincidence.

For example,Castformis a fusion ofForecast + Form. However, the ternOvercastalso fits into the name. However, Castform was not named afterovercast.

So it seems to be based onhoneycomband(honey)bee, but if combine was part of the name origin, it would make sense, since yes, they do have three faces combined together. It seems that it was only based on honeycomb, though.
