Is that a tail on Whismur/Loudred?

I’m sorry for the such strange (potentially nsfw?) question. On their 3D sprites, it has a hole where the butt should be. I know Pokemon don’t really have butts but, has it ever been confirmed if that’s an open tail? or a butt? or a stuck out tail with a black dot on it? My friend says there’s no way it’s a butt, since y’know kids game, but that’s all I can see.

so yeah, is that confirmed to be a tail design wise anywhere? what is it?

Above its small, plug-like tail is a yellow, crescent marking. There is a hole in the center of its tail.

Yes, it appears to be a tail. If you look closely, it appears to be slightly in a cylinder shape, so I’m going to assume that it is probably a tail with a bit of black at the tip.
