Is it possible to trade Gen 3 games by using DS\DS lite?

Is it possible to trade between Ruby\Sapphire and FireRed\LeafGreen by using a DS or DS Lite? I’ve tried once with each but it seems the “communication” isn’t there. Is it my systems or games or just can’t do it that way? I only have one GBA SP with wireless connector. I don’t have the cable which seems to be the way for Ruby\Sapphire. At this moment in time, I don’t want to upload any of them onto Pearl right now.

The only way you could trade from a GBA cartridge to another GBA cartridge is by using a link cable to Connect two GBA’s - DS wireless only functions with DS games, which have these wireless connection capabilities programmed in. If you’re worried that the pokemon on the GBA cartridge will be forgotten, you can use the Pal Park in the DS games. Unfortunately, you can’t trade GBA games with a DS alone.

no it isnt possible becuse you need to use the link cable between the two gameboys to cumunicate and the ds doesnt have that sorry :-(
