Is it possible for a move to miss if the opponent uses Protect?
Oct. 15, 2020Whenever a Pokemon uses Protect, I always get the same message ("[Pokémon’s name] protected itself!"), even if I use a move like Focus Blast, Blizzard, or even an OHKO move. Is it ever possible for the ("[Pokémon’s name] move missed!") message to appear? I’ve never seen it once.

noI tried this in showdown. Even while dynamaxed, when it would fail, it didn’t say it failed, it said it protected itself.Replay(then again, maybe I just had insane luck and sheer cold hit every time lol, but after like 5 turns? Probabaly not)The possible execption where you could say it “missed” is with jump kick or high jump kick, but those 100% keep going and crash when protect is used.
