Is Haunter a good option for Sword/Shield playthroughs?

My question is “Is Haunter good, or do you need a Gengar?” I wanted to know if a Haunter would be okay to have, (since I cant trade) or is it a waste of a team slot?

You can actually catch a Gengar as a Wanderer at the Giant’s Cap, or from Max Raids in Giant’s Mirror, South Lake Miloch, and Stony Wilderness. Try to use a Gengar if you can find one, as Haunter is inferior in pretty much every way. It obviously works in-game, as most things do, but why settle for less when you can have more?

Haunter / Gengar @ Spell TagAbility: Levitate / Cursed Body- Shadow Ball- Sludge Wave- Dazzling Gleam- Hypnosis / Giga Drain

If your struggling to find Gengar in the Giants Cap just equip a Haunter with an Evolite so that way it will have some bulk and its solid special attack and speed is good enough for playthroughs, here’s a move set for it

-Shadow Ball-Dazzling Gleam-Energy Ball-Sludge Bomb
