In Pokemon X and Y, is there a possible way to boost the chances of getting a shiny via. Breeding?
Dec. 22, 2013The title pretty much says it all. I am trying to breed Pokemon to get their shiny form. I was wondering if you could increase the chances of getting one.

If you breed two Pokemon from different countries, then the odds of hatching a shiny are changed from 1/8192 to 1/1365, so it multiplies the chance by 6. This is known as the Masuda Method.
The method is named after Game Freak director Junichi Masuda, whoprogrammed it into Pokémon Diamond and Pearl. He documented the methodin his blog, where he mentioned a way that “rare colored Pokémon’s Eggcan be found little easier.” The mechanics behind the method werediscovered by Smogon.
