In all of the Pokemon games do you have to capture every single Pokemon to beat the game?

In Pokemon Pearl, I have beaten the Pokemon League gym leader but I was not allowed to pass a bridge until I have filled up my entire Pokedex. Do I have to capture every single Pokemon or do I have to fill up my Pokedex of every Pokemon?

Okay.here are some reasons I can think of:

1.You need to get the national dex.2.You need to see all the Pokemon.3.You have to capture every single Pokemon in the national pokedex.

These might not be correct since I don’t which bridge you are talking about.

u just need to fill up your pokedex. you dont have to catch all the Pokemon. after you beat Pokemon league there is always something else you can do but you have already beat the game
