How is Diancie obtained, how rare is it and how are its shiny forms obtained?

In Alpha Sapphire, I got a Diancie from another player by trading. I was unfamiliar with pokémon and had no idea of its rarity. Recently I have found out that it is a rare event exclusive pokémon. I am unfamiliar with events and how to obtain pokémon from them, can someone explain how players obtain Diancie? Also, how can a person obtain a shiny Diancie?

If you really want to obtain a Shiny Diancie, you may want to look here for a tutorial on how to do so on IGN:Click here. However do it at your own risk since its rumored that this can ruin your game but I’m not sure. You may also want to look for the QR code for Diancie.
