How do you pronounce the Gym Leader Candice's name?

The gym leader Candice… Is it pronounced Cand-Ice, as the word Ice is pronounced, or is it pronounced Cand-iss?I suspect the first is possible because she is an ICE type gym leader, and that pronunciation would make logical sense. If possible, I’d like the answer to come from someone who has seen, all the way through, AND to this day, remembers it, the episode of Pokemon on TV long ago where Ash Ketchum battles Candice, and remembers how her name is pronounced. Found a third-party site to watch the episode where Candice is introduced. It is pronounced CAN-diss, not like the word ice (a missed pun). Hope I helped!Source
