How did Misty meet Togepi?

In ‘Attack of the Prehistoric’ Pokémon, Ash finds an Egg. It hatches into a Togepi in ‘Who Gets to Keep Togepi?’, and since Misty is the first thing the baby Pokémon sees, it believes Misty is its mother.
