Gen. I Pikachu and Hidden Power?

So I’m gonna trade my pikachu over from my original yellow into either my silver or gold, but I was wondering, because the pikachu came from Gen. I would there be anything different about his hidden power? Or would it still be randomly based on his IV’s from the first Gen?

If it is traded out of Pokemon Yellow, Pikachu becomes a normal Pikachu (except it will be holding the Light Ball). By this I mean it will be able to evolve, which it can’t do in Yellow, and it won’t be out of its pokeball, etc. Because of this I think that its Hidden Power will randomly depend on its IV’s, and so could be anything.

Having said that, I couldn’t find an actual source saying that, so I am happy to be proven wrong if someone else did find a source.
