Does download take stat changes into effect?

Pretty simple, but I’ll explain it anyway.

If you are versing an arceus (no reason, just chose arceus) and it has higher defense your special attack will go up, but what if it used calm mind? Would Download then raise your attack instead?

Yes, Download takes stat changes into effect. Because it depends on thecurrentstats.

Download raises either the Attack stat or Special Attack stat by one stage depending on the foe’s lowestcurrentdefensive stat (i.e. it will raise Special Attack if the foe’scurrentSpecial Defense is lower than itscurrentDefense stat). If the foe’s Defense and Special Defense are equal, the Special Attack stat is increased. During a Double Battle, Download will add the two opposing Pokémon’s stats and calculate the lower stat between both.
