Do male and female Pokemon have different abilities?
Jul. 2, 2011I’m wondering because when i try to catch male solosis with four experiment, the only ability i can get is overcoat, and when i catch my FIRST female solosis, i get this magic guard ability :D
And is there any difference between male pokemon’s and female pokemon’s status?

Male Meowstic can have Prankster, while females have Competitive.
Male Indeedee can have Inner Focus, and females can have Own Tempo.
Male Oinkologne can have Lingering Aroma, while females get Aroma Veil.
These are the only species with gender differences to have differing Abilities, as of Scarlet and Violet.
No, each ability is equally likely at 50/50 whatever Pokemon it is. The gender doesn’t affect the ability at all.
It may seem like it but it is one of those random things that looks like something is going on in the game when it is not. The only solosis I have ever had w/ modest nature & magic guard was a girl.
