Do both strikes from Dual Chop receive STAB?
Mar. 13, 2014If you were to compare a Haxorus using Dragon Claw (Effective base 120 after STAB) to a Haxorus using Dual Chop, would Dual Chop also have a cumulative base power if 120?
Note: I am aware there is a post like this one from two years ago, but I found the answer ambiguous, unhelpful and was wondering if changes in the X/Y Metagame would affect what I’m asking.

They would both recieve stab and have 120 power after STAB calculation. 6th Gen hasn’t changed the boost you get with STAB, so you still get 50%.
The same-type attack bonus was introduced in Generation I and has remained unchanged since.

Yeah both strikes receive STAB
Nothing has changed with STAB mechanics to my knowledge.
