Can you control the starter you get in Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: EOT?

Well, I recently started playing my EOT game that I got a year ago but never bothered to touch it :\ And at the beginning, it told be to answer some questions, and after that, I got Chimchar. But I am asking,can you control what starter you pick? Like, which answers lead to which Pokemon?
