Can you catch wild beginner pokemon?
Apr. 29, 2010When you get the National pokedex in Diamond and Pearl and, that little girl in Sandgem town, will she tell you where you can find the beginner pokemon in the wild mudkips, chimchar,etc?

In short, no. However in many games you can get one of the starter pokemon and migrate/trade for others.
Turtwig/Chimchar/Piplup- choose one as starter in Diamond/Pearl/Platinum.
Treecko/Torchic/Mudkip- starter in Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald then migrate- get one from Steven (at Pokemon Fan Club in Vermillion) in HeartGold/SoulSilver after beating the Elite Four and Red
Chikorita/Cyndaquil/Totodile- choose one in Emerald after completing the Pokedex then migrate- starter in HeartGold/SoulSilver
Bulbasaur/Charmander/Squirtle- starter in FireRed/LeafGreen then migrate- get one from Professor Oak in HeartGold/SoulSilver after defeating the Elite Four and Red
It is impossible to find them in the wild.
You cant, unless you cheat.
