Can I switch worlds whenever I want or will I be stuck in Pokemon Moon?

(sorry, I know that’s a bit confusing) In my Pokemon Moon game, I went through a portal and got teleported to Pokemon Sun. I’m wondering that if I go through the portal again, back to Pokemon Moon, if I can go through the portal, back to Pokemon Sun. In other words, can I keep switching worlds whenever I want, or will the portal to Sun disappear once I go back to Moon?

You can change dimension whenever you want, as long as it is night in Pokemon Sun or day in Pokemon Moon. It is important to note, though, that you can go to the Altar of the Moone/Sunne in the alternate dimension and obtain cosmog.

I’d just like to note that the alternate world is simply a place where the time has advanced twelve hours; no other version-exclusive features are available in the alt world. Despite this, it is not a one-time event and you can go through it as many times as you want.
