Are the Mystery Gifts Pokémon you get from the DNS trick safe?

Aug. 14, 2022

Hello, everyone.I’m a returning player and currently starting Pokémon White Version. I feel like I have to re-learn pretty much everything again, which is something I don’t mind at all.Today, after doing some research, I learned about the DNS trick (is it a trick, tho) to get the Mystery Gifts Pokémon and I’m wondering if they’resafe to get, and if they’re not gonna pop up as “hacked” or something if I try to transfer them to the Pokémon Bank.Thank you in advance for your replies!

Think of the DNS exploit as a way to access old event Pokemon. These event Pokemon were perfectly legal at the time, and they still are – the method of obtaining them is simply more unorthodox. I’ve performed the DNS exploit dozens of times, and I’ve had no issues using them in-game, transferring them through Bank and HOME, or trading them to other people.

In short, DNS Pokemon are perfectly safe, as they’re just old events that can be reaccessed. They won’t damage your game and they pass the hack checks on Pokemon Bank.
